Winter activities

Arctic nature trips has tours for searching the Aurora Borealis (Northern lights) in the sky. Depending on the weather we sometimes see the Aurora in the dark time, between 19.00 and 23.00, during the autumn and winter. We may also see some animals at the same time.

Available: from 30th September until the 30th of March

Duration 1h safari for the searching of the northern lights by a car safari, walking / snowshoes, or a snowmobile sledge tour 1h is 60 € per person per hour. A hot drink and small snacks included after the 1h tour. You can also choose the horseback riding 1h 60€ per person for the time of the evening, if you wish to see the northern lights at the same time.

Notice that this is hunting or searching for the northern lights tour, and if we do not find them, we do not return the money. We do the guided tour in any case. If the weather does not seem possible for the seeing of the aurora, we can see the weather forecast for you 2 days beforehand. Any cancellations must be done 48 hours before the starting time of the safari.

Let’s walk in the pure nature of Lapland! You can use your own shoes on nature trails or rent a pair of our snowshoes and take your own path on the untouched snow.

The tour includes a packed lunch, extra clothing and pick up service in Kemi and Simo village area. We come to our private forest in Simo, and eat a snack meal or a packed lunch in a forest, by the private fire place outside or inside the cottage house. We give you winter wear extra.

You can fish in the winter too. Ice fishing is a great way to spend a beautiful day outside enjoying the excitement: who will catch the first fish! Suitable for the whole family.

The tour includes a small snack meal outside on the ice, extra winter wear clothing and pick up service in Kemi, or Simo / Sea-Lapland area. We give you the equipment needed for the ice fishing.

The duration is 1h, 60 € per person, includes the pick up service in Kemi or Tornio area. Prepare 1,5hours total, with the transport inclusive.
