STF – Sustainable Travel Finland is in our program: We keep the horses in natural boarding conditions. Regular examinations of the animal well being are done by local vets. We do not keep the iron shoes on our horses, to save the nature and natural paths during our trail rides. The horses hoof care in a natural way keeps them healthy. The blood circulation of the hooves, and therefore the whole horse is strong, when the hoof care is natural. The winter coat of the horse living in natural boarding conditions is strong. The long winter hair keeps the rain, cold and snow on the top of the winter hair, and the horse’s skin is warm.

Living in a small, private farm is a sustainable, ecological way of life. We have no mass tourism, nor any big groups around us, nor any big traffic. Read more about the public transfer closest to us below. Responsible, sustainable travelling and tourism is a part of our lifestyle.

Transportation

The closest bus stop to our stables is Simo, near to the road number 4/E75. The closest airport is Kemi-Tornio airport. The closest train station: Kemi. We offer transport included safaris by extra cost. During the summer months June and July we have a transport inclusive safaris from Rovaniemi airport or bus or train station to the island of horses in Rovaniemi. If you have your own transport, look surely the driving time even in winter conditions to Simo. We have a narrow, slippery road during the winter, so drive slowly and carefully.

Cancellations: If you cancel your safari 48 hours before the start of the safari time or the set pick up service time, we can return the money. Any cancellations after that are not refundable. Arriving late causes the loss of time / money due to your own reason.

If the public transport is late, we can move your safari time until you arrive to Simo bus stop, Kemi railwaystation or Kemi-Tornio airport, in case you let us know about the delay on time the same day.

During the northern lights season we do not return any money in the cases, where we do not manage to find or see the northern lights. It is always by searching for the northern lights, that we do our best to find them. In case we won’t see them we can not guarantee 100 % that  you would see them.

If the sudden cancellation during the same day than the safari or the transport is made is due to the customers own sudden wish, fall , sickness, or cold or being scared etc, or other reasons we do not return any funds.

To cancel the safaris suddenly, ask your own travel insurance if they can do refunds or not.

Good to know

Any food allergies or diets must be communicated when you’re booking. Even if you have already made a reservation beforehand, please confirm that your special needs have been noted if you are paying to the other tourist leaders.

Cancellation policy for other safari sellers or travel agencies

Other companies sell our trips with their own transport and winter clothing fees included. If you book through another company, we can not return our fees, due to your own cancellation or arriving late.
